Back at One

The melancholic night makes me think eagerly about the times I pick up the doll in a muddy spot. As well as walking in a lengthy journey with tears brought by someone else because of breaking my precious possession that time. Suddenly the sunbeam strikes my eyes and another lesson will be stuck on my mind and opportunely I’m with the people who caused my sobs yesterday.

I couldn’t conceive how the wind wafts every bit of my memory but still manage to arrange it in place. There are entities jammed in my whole being and I guess even I lose breath it will be eternally retain. A pointed sign that the imprint left on my soul is so inseparable.

Exuberant times with packs of chocolates and sweet candies until the dentist gets mad and repeat several times to brush your teeth. Rather do as you are told, you run in the nearest store with your partner in crime to revel in the pieces of sweets. Until one day you wake up without any tooth at all to munch your favorite food from your favored food chain.

It must have been childhood with all the Disney characters until innocence will diminish little by little. Pimples on faces, stylish clothes, hanging with friends until sunset and various requests for every parent are lessen then abruptly you find yourself as a kid no more.

Before, one emotion could state a whole episode of each year then all of a sudden they will have a race until one swallowed your whole day. Certainly a day of reckoning if anger, sadness, and disappointment will arrive on the finish line on the same time. The one who used to be so exultant would become a doomster.

No matter how negative life proffers you, it will never be that kind if you could only focus yourself on different angle. Sometimes it is so hard to fix yourself in the point of certainty and chances but remember the wind that blows your mind; it will definitely eradicate whatever disappointments you have if you let time do it for you. It will hold on to things that are worth remembering not only because you relished it but because you got something from it.

It is so natural to bear the pain which is worse than the wound we completely experience ago when we were practicing how to drive a bicycle. Even if the wound before left a scar at least the menace that we have been experiencing now would absolutely mark another chapter of life if we deal with it prudently and valiantly.

Sentiments would drown us and drive us crazy. Since we are no longer kids, instead of playing dolls and guns, we should now learn the mechanics on how to play and control our emotions.

* What inspired me to blog about being a kid was the birthday celebration of Joseph “Osep” O. Libunao, my nephew. Of course i did not let myself miss that one special day of his life

I had a chance to go back to the happiest moment of being a human, and that is being a KID.

We even played the “balloon relay” but unfortunately we did not have photos since my cousin also joined the contest. I named our group as “Beki” and again, unfortunately, we were losers. However, i was able to capture the delightful moments of the kids playing different games.

Of course, in every birthday celebration, Happy Birthday song is always present.

and since the birthday was held in Jollibee, Jollibee and his friend Popo also joined the “kulitan” moments of everyone.

Lastly, every birthday celebrant deserves a birthday wish, since, Osep was not yet really known to what was happening, his parents were the ones who gave him their birthday wishes.

Everyone enjoyed the day. Our belly said “HappyKiddyUs!!”. I forgot that I am already a teen and not a kid anymore, and that is the essence of attending parties like this, you once forget your present life, because you are busy enjoying looking back to your past life.

Again, Happy Birthday Osep! We love you! :))

Oh wait, Dear kids, Enjoy your Childhood! Please, do not rush things. Everything will come to you little by little.

Sweet Mom of Mine

Thinking of posting another blog about childhood, so I get the photo albums to look for some photos which I can add to my post, but while I am in the mode of reminiscing the old days, one picture fell down that made me forget my thoughts about the “childhood blog”.

If I am not mistaken, that picture was taken during my graduation when I was in Grade 4. I look so SEXY there, if you get what I mean.

Anyway, my body figure way back is not important, what caught my attention is the note written at the back of the photo.

“Kita mo Ampy, medal taun-taon yan

natikman ko maging scholar si Joy

kasarap pala ng marunong ang anak

Ampy, sikat sa school, palaging kasama sa program, kaya lang kagastos”

We used to send photos from here to abroad.Through reading that, I found out that this photo was for my Tita in Italy. Obviously, mommy planned to send it to her but I don’ t know why it is here, that was so old-fashioned but no one should be blamed since, before, writing letters was very “in”, but now, I wonder how many people are still giving their time to write and go to a mail office to send a letter for their loved ones. Technology makes most of the things instant to the point that one text, mms, email away, there you go! Loved ones received what you want to convey, but I guess, writing letters is still sweeter.

But there will be no sweeter than what my mommy wrote and I know every child wants to make their Momma proud (that reminds me of a band huh), and fortunately, I did it, but it does not mean that I will already stop aiming high for myself and for them since way back, i already made them proud. Of course, as long as I am alive, I will not be tired doing things that will let them say “Proud kami sayo”, and if a child hears that, Omgsh! Heaven!! All the exhaustion and sufferings you underwent will be all removed.

We only got one life, lucky you, if you got many, but as long as you are breathing, as long as opportunity is knocking, give the best shot! After all, people who raised you will not think of how much they spent and what did they experience jjust to meet your needs, most especially in school.

We all want to make our parents proud. We all want to hear and see how they are proud of us. It is something that you need to work out. It is something between parents and children because I know that if you ask a child “who is your inspiration to strive hard?”, most of them will answer “my parents”, thus, parents are there to motivate, and children are there to give back what their parents deserve.

Again, Make your Momma Proud! In reciprocate to that is a feeling of satisfaction and HAPPINESS.

As you make them proud, be grateful to the Lord who gave you all the instruments to succeed. For you will not succeed on your own, you will always need HIS light to obtain your goals.
